What about at the end of the year, when all is said and accomplished, Incubus was to show one final bit of gratitude towards the fans, letting 3 lucky fans be a part of the recording process of the next album?
I got the idea from Eminem. Marshall Mather's put 3 golden tickets into Obie Trice's Cheers albums nationwide. If you bought the album, and had the ticket, you won the privilege of being able to be part of Eminem's recording of his upcoming album.
Think about it, the millions of fans across the world would kill to be in studio while their favorite band records their next work. So, on that token, what if you were to randomly select 3 names from all the people who purchase an item, VIP package, from the Make Yourself Foundation? Those 3 people would win the honor of being in the studio with Incubus in the flesh. Wow....
There is no GREATER reward to a fan....
Even if you're skeptical, which is natural, run the notion past the guys. I have a feeling that Michael, Jose, Chris, Brandon, and Ben would seriously contemplate the idea.

| That is the most AWESOME idea i have heard like ... ever ... but it shouldnt be whoever has bought an item it should be with WIAV. 3. because some of us especially me (im 16) cant afford 300 dollar tickets so it would be really discouraging to me if that idea got picked up and i couldnt have a chance in hell ... it would make me mad. but very good idea none the less |

But the band would have to be comfortable with it.

| It is an insane idea but I think the only factor that would detract from it is that we as fans are absoutely rabid for incubus news. Plus you have got to know some little bitch will get it. His daddy probably bought out all the experiences on ebay and is flying him around to see the band. Thats who would win not the hardcore fans. If they did it they should have a contest or something. The other thing is we would probably string up the person who didn't tell us everything about the recording time and they will have to sign a confidentiallity clause or some thing. Plus bootlegs would be a huge danger most of us would just appreciate the experience then there is the little bitch like I said who would ruin everything by leaking some of the new songs before they were done. I personally would swallow a recorder in a platic baggy and hold my stomach up to speaker and then shit it out later so you guys could hear it but if the band was against it I wouldn't. It is not a bad idea there would just have to be upgrades. Good thought man. |

It'd be great. I'd love to get to do that. But a) I never win contests. Ever. It's just a rule. and b) If they are selling the tickets, or whatever they would be, my parents, not in a JILLION years, not if we were JILLIONARES, would never ever buy it for me. They're the cheapest people you'll ever meet. Ever.

well then instead of letting some lucky rich kid win (like dredg got all worked up about) why not give it to say...the person who donated/spent the most up to the recording date. that way the legit people who have already spent would win

Hm.. I dunno. Cause then the poor people wouldn't be able to win. I think what they should do is not publicize it and make it like charlie and the chocolate factory. And what I mean by that is hide it in something. Make a deal with some company and hide three "golden tickets" in whatever, but don't let the public know, so that a rich kid could just buy the entire supply of whatever it is. But if someone buys the right one, it would have all the details and what it means.
I just realized the fault of my idea: a complete non-incubus fan might get it. Or someone who hasn't even heard of them. Or has vaguely heard of them. But in a perfect world where everyone loved incubus, that would be a good idea.

i brought up an idea similar to one of the guys that works at muchmusic here in canada "all tucked away down there" lol
the idea was to have a contest like that of duets that mtv has, but the final prize would be to perform one song with incubus on stage when they came to your hometown on tour. and of course you'd spend a good chunk of time with the band too. screw the album, i'd want the stage! |
