thank you very much for the stats man. also i think we need to do a thread off the good and the bad of the monuments and melodies tour.

here i go

the good: the return of redefine, privilege and new skin to the setlist. i was in shock when i saw that redefine normal version made its return to the setlist after 9 years. a lot of people think that song was never going to be played again for the fact of ben couldn't slap. but he showed to the dirk lovers that he can slap and he can play the old incubus songs. when i hear the didjeridoo it give me chills.

Privilege was the opening song for the first few dates of the tour and i was asking for that in the past 5 or 6 years. when i heard that in san diego i was so excited.

the bad: new skin was the song that i wanted to hear along with privilege and others. was played only twice and should have been a regular song.

also, as some peole have said. drive and wish you were here needs to get a rest and play some other songs that they don't frequently play.

While I've not attented a show, I'll still give my two cents:

The Good: Pardon Me, Privilege, Redefine, ACSOG with slap and the soundchecks.

The Bad: The lack of changing up the setlists. I also thinked that they should have played two science songs a night (or three like in Vegas). The lack of new b-sides.

The Ugly: Oil and Water, Love Hurts. I know it's a greatests hits tour, but these songs can be left of any setlist if you ask me. Not that I hate the songs, but I'd hate to see them live and take a set-spot for Rogues, Leech, Pendelous or a SCIENCE song.

I'm just extremely, ridiculously, madly up-fuckin-set that they did NOT play Warning much, especially since they didn't play it in Dallas.

Instead, we get Let's Go Crazy.

Cool... Rolling Eyes

(I still love Incubus like no other, and they are amazing...but still...I didn't get to see one of my favorite songs *which by the way is one of their greatest hits and this is a greatest hits tour right?*)

I'd like to reiterate:

Quote:
1 - Pendulous Threads (52 votes)
2 - Under My Umbrella (37 votes)
3 - Anti-Gravity/Summer Romance (32 votes/tie)
4 - The Warmth (32 votes/tie)
5 - New Skin - original (30 votes/tie)
6 - Rogues (30 votes/tie)
7 - Leech (27 votes)
8 - Nowhere Fast (26 votes)
9 - Blood on the Ground (25 votes/tie)
10 - Crowded Elevator (25 votes/tie)

1. 0 Times played.
2. 4 Times played.
3. 0 Times played.
4. 6 Times played.
5. 2 Times played.
6. 2 Times played.
7. 0 Times played.
8. 0 Times played.
9. 0 Times played.
10. 0 Times played.

So our top 10 list compiled from a good amount of members counted for 14 total plays the entire tour. So we had about a .6% chance of seeing even one of those songs that they even played from our list.

Both the shows I went to were awesome so I cant really complain...but wasn't it said somewhere that they were planning on playing from a 60 song bank? Only 38 unique songs Sad

yeah, Rennie had hinted towards it. And in Vegas Kil had said at that point they could play just about any song from their collection -- when I probed further he even said some Fungus/Enjoy stuffs.

How about a list of songs that were soundchecked but never played?

from what I can remember:
Echo
Paper Shoes
While All the Vultures Feed

... and then the random/silly/short covers:
War Pigs
Man in the Box
?? by Iron Maiden

I love how 311 does this, it's awesome to see the breakdown, so thanks so much for doing this!

I cant complain about the setlist we had for the Chicago show, I guess we are one of the few to get I Miss You. Rogues, among others, seriously needs to make more appearances next tour!

Such a fucking shame SCIENCE doesn't get more play. Like seriously wtf.

But I am glad I got to hear The Warmth for the encore.

The overall good:
Redefine, Privilege, New Skin, Green, SSLW, Circles, ACLOTM, Dropping BHI from the setlist...

My only gripe:
They picked Detroit to start NOT opening the sets with Privilege, new skin not being constant (can't really complain with circles though), where was Vultures/Pantomime?, fan list was irrelevant

You have to wonder if the songs they play the most are the ones they feel forced to play or if they're the songs they actually enjoy playing the most.

Maybe they love playing the hits because they love looking out at the crowd and seeing the entire venue singing along. They don't get the same reaction when they play album tracks.

My feeling from the Tampa show was that everyone in the crowd knew the singles or the entire Morning View album.

I think they feel obliged to play the hits, especially during this tour of course.

But they could do a 20 song setlist with 6 hits or so in the future, if it was up to me. Vary the hits: One night for example Pardon Me, Drive, Nice To Know You, Anna Molly, Megalomaniac and Love Hurts. On another night: Stellar, WYWH, Oil and Water, Anna Molly, Talk Shows and Dig.

Just examples. And I get the feeling that the 'real' fans don't really care about singles like Are You In, Warning being played, but more about the mega-hits. Personally, I love Megalomaniac, Anna Molly, WYWH and Pardon Me, but I can do a set without NTNY, Love Hurts, Oil and Water and stellar. I'd love to hear Warning and Are You In, even though they are singles.

Thank you everyone for the positive feedback! This is the first time for any band or tour that I've kept track of. It actually was pretty fun seeing the variations from show to show, albeit not major from day to day, but seeing how it progressed from the first show to the last.

The following should also be noted regarding the stats:

- Technically there were only 32 shows, but I decided to include the Echoplex show since it was the first show in 2 years. only about a few weeks prior to the first date of the tour, and included some rarities that helped beef up the list.

- The encore stats were modified to include only 30 shows since the Echoplex, Mile High fest and Outside Lands fest didn't include encores.

- I used the stats for the Mile High fest from the thread for it instead of the tour blog since it was more accurate.

For those asking about the soundchecked songs, here you go:

Soundchecked:
Paper Shoes
Rogues
Crowded Elevator
Just A Phase
Look Alive
Punch Drunk
Echo
A Crow Left of the Murder
Blood On The Ground
Anything
Pendulous Threads
Pistola
War of Pigs (Iron Maiden cover)
Light Grenades
Consequence
Here In My Room
Careless Whisper
Runnin' With the Devil (Van Halen cover)
Love Hurts
Dig
Priceless
Under My Umbrella
Bump N' Grind (R. Kelly cover)
Leech
Made For TV Movie
Follow

(Note: These are all of the ones I saw in the threads. If I missed any please let me know.)

I really like this idea. It's an easy way to please everyone involved in my opinion. It would also provide fans even more of an incentive to catch more than one show.

Don't get me wrong, I like that they at least switch out some songs from night to night or vary the order, but it'd be nice to hear more deeper cuts as I'm sure everyone on here can agree on.
