I'm going! No Milan for me. Who else will be there?

Long time since I've posted here, but I got tickets in the presale today so I'm pretty dang excited! Been keen to get to one of their Hammersmith shows for years, I've only seen them twice before in arenas, so something a bit more intimate should be awesome.

The apollo has a capacity of 5000 or so, right?

Can anyone tell me what the venue is like? Will be my first headline show outside the Netherlands. So far only went to a few festivals across the borders.

I think I've been there before... If it's the same place then it's pretty nice inside, wide venue so nobody is too far from the stage, good balcony. Don't remember it feeling as large as 5000. Are you standing or seated?

Got a standing ticket. Which was pretty confusing. The seating plan shows that the whole venue is seated, except for two rows at the backs of the seats. On the seating plan those rows are identified as Stall Standing, which is also how standing tickets are labelled when buying. People over at IncubusHQ cleared things up for me, luckely.

Capacity is 5039 when the seats are taken out. That's smaller than the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam (where Incubus played in 2007), but it will make it easier to get a nice spot. I'll be a few days in London before that time (any tips for visiting appreciated! Been there three times before, but still a lot to be seen), so I'll convince my friend that on Tuesday we can be at the venue early on.

Just got tickets - it's a really good venue, pretty loud with good sound quality. I'll be interested to see how it compares to them playing at Brixton, though, which just seems like the correct venue for them.

Depends what you're interested in, Jelger - I'd say it's cool to visit the original Hard Rock Cafe if you can get there at a time when there aren't many queues.

Thanks, I've never actually been to any Hard Rock café. Heard they had insanely good burgers.

I'm interested in anything cultural, from museums to music to movie. And football, might do some ground hopping without actually seeing a match. My friend who comes along is perhaps less interested in cultural things, but I think I can drag him anywhere if I try hard enough, haha.

Their onion rings are the best I've ever had haha

In terms of cultural stuff, there's Exhibition Road, which has the Science Museum, Natural History Museum and the V&A all next to each other - you could easily spend a day looking round any one of those. There's also the British Museum, which is impossible to go round all of it in just a day.

I'd recommend going to see a play in the West End, maybe - apparently Bradley Cooper is appearing in the Elephant Man over the summer, but I'm not exactly sure when. Or there are the classics that have been running for ages, like The Woman in Black.

For sport, it was pretty cool to visit the Olympic Park, just to see what it's like, plus there's quite a big shopping centre next to it, where Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs have opened up "Cafe Football". If you're around when a game is on, it might be worth going to a T20 Cricket match (list of fixtures here: http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-schedule/series/2323/natwest-t20-blast-2015) it's a really good laugh and basically a giant piss up.

Thanks!

The Natural History Museum is high on my list, so I'll definitely try to go there.

Is there a good bar near the venue by the way? We could make it the meeting place for fans before the gig Smile

There's a Wetherspoons that isn't too bad, considering it's a Wetherspoons - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/The+William+Morris/@51.4925397,-0.2248311,17z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x48760fb7ce24dd91:0xdd04694f5e6930ae

The venue itself is a little way out from central London, probably about 15 to 20 minutes on the tube.

Yeah, the venue is easy enough to reach. Let's see if we can meet up with some people at the time, could be fun!

Unfortunately Hyde Park all-dayers cost around £100 nowadays usually.

It's probably unlikely but I hope the second EP comes out before this gig - it would be nice going and knowing we'll hear more than 4 new songs.

Might be that by that time they are playing one of the Side B-tracks. Who knows. A single/tease-song from Side B by that time is not highly unlikely.

Looking forward to this even more now I've heard the whole EP - only about 6 weeks away now! Did anyone get MYF tickets? I checked on them about 2 days in and they were all over £100, which is a bit too much for me, considering I wouldn't have a clue what to say to the band.

Pretty exciting week that week - Incubus on Tuesday, Amsterdam Wednesday and Thursday and then Foo Fighters with Iggy Pop and Royal Blood at Wembley on the Friday.

Just received an e-mail: no support band. An evening with Incubus. Show starts at 8 pm.

Hope that means that the headline show is a bit longer than usual.

On the day of the show I made a little plan for my day, which probably have me arriving near the venue a few hours before the show. Any good places to drink/eat near the Apollo?
