| Quote: | | I didn't really start 'pursuing' music until this summer really and this sounds weird but, coming to the US in 2000, I wasn't like THERE for all these albums to come out, and I didn't start listening to rock until 2004 really, so I'm trying to find a balance between finding new good music, and going back to listening to the classics. |
So please recommend some like "must-listens" of anything that y'all think I might like. Any file donations welcome. Hope there's some holiday spirit left.

If you want to see what I usually listen to and recommend based on that.
I'd love you guys. Love recommendations. |

Try Architechture in Helsinki, needle.
If you want something kind of like Boards of Canada, I'd recommend some múm and some Childs. _________________

I'm upping you some of my favourite albums.
And I'm finding random links for full album downloads, too.
Some classic, some just good. |

This will be tres useful for me, too.
As for classics, I'd say The Verve's Urban Hyms is a must. _________________ -Shiraz |

I find editors to be pretty blah.
I feel like there are only a couple of post punk bands I like, and all of the others are lumped into this huge grouping of monotony and sameness.
That being said, I love Joy Division and I like Interpol.
I remember listening to editors when their album came out a couple years ago and liking it at first, then getting extremely bored.
Pandora is useless!
You are all welcome for the links. It makes me happy that people will be listening to many glorious albums. |

Yea i heard all the rave about them being like Interpol and i really liked "munich" [which proceeded to get old fast] , but I listened to some other songs and they didn't stick. nonetheless, i am very, very thankful for the gesture Dan and will in fact download those albums and give them another shot as a whole.
and i'm glad that other people are getting stuff out of this thread too |

editors are a good band, there is just nothing original about their sound anymore, its big and epic to listen to, but nothing about their sound is original at all, thus why all their songs sound pretty average.
joy division are one of the best/important indie bands there has ever been.
and yeah, well done thea. must have taken you so long to upload all that. _________________
