I love the S.C.I.E.N.C.E. fit-out, it's what I use, the only thing I miss from the ACLOTM one is that you don't have a big "new fucking messages" sign when you get new messages. Otherwise, love it to pieces.

it's really easy.
i made the science and crow themes.
just find a basic template, and edit all of the images in that template.
it takes a long time, and i am probably too lazy to do anymore, but hey, go for it.
i'm no graphic designer, i just started fucking with the templates. |

I'd suggest doing it to phpbb3. I'll eventually migrate over from phpbb2; I just cringe at the thought given how nice the crow/science templates are and how much custom work I've put into the board.

and adam, yes, they took FOREVER to do.
being summer and being like, 17 or 18 and living out in the mountains will give you enough time to create message board themes.
it's alot of trial and error, you almost need a blank board on the same server to test things out.
i think if people want to make new ones then there should be a open phpbb board set up somewhere here where people can mess with all the little things. it's so hard making images, them not being the right size, making sure they line up, then trying to talk to the board admin on AIM about every little detail that looks wrong or any questions.
phpbb theme creation should be like, a paid full-time job. :p |

Yeah, that's why when people ask, I tell them they can make one if they're motivated. I've set up a blank board or two for testing, but nothing has really come of it.
