There won't be an opener for this show.
An evening with Incubus sounds awesome.
i'm feeling this show now and i can't wait for this friday.

i wasn't that excited because i just saw Radiohead two weeks ago and they just left me with my jaw open and wanting to see them more but they don't have more west coast dates. i was listening to make yourself today and that brought my excitement for Incubus back.
This venue holds 2,500 should be intimate. |

Aj, are you going to this show?
Wonder why the band didn't wanted to have an opening act? the last time they did a concert with no opener was at the Santa Barbara bowl on july 2011. Actually, there is some coincidence with the SB bowl show and this show.
The following day of the SB Bowl show was a radio festival show and the band is also playing a radio festival on Saturday.
i'm going to be happy with whatever they play but the last time i saw them 15 of 20 songs were singles and hope they play more non singles songs. |

So my day started with uncertainty.
Two days ago i decided to buy two tix for this show. Since the tix were really good (sec a row 15 close to center aisle) and the seller was selling then at face i decide to buy both instead of one. This left me with and extra, so i sold the second on ebay. Only prob was i did not have the tickets, and i totally gave complete warning to the person buying the second ticket that i did not have them in hand and was pickin them up day of show.
So today i arrive at venue wuthout tix and owing someone a ticket, not the best situation to be in. Also, i was still skeptical of the venue.
I arrive at 430 and begin to play poker. Now i love playong poker and havent played in three years cuz in a grad student which = slave. So im playing when the one person with the tix arrive. I buy the tix off her and go back to playing. Im really relieved i have tix in hand and let my buyer know i have em in hand
I start playing poker again then in the middle of a hand a guy at the table asks who is there for the show. I say i an and he says " do u wanna meet the band". Of course i say yes. The dude hands me two free meet and greet tickets. THE DUDE HANDS ME TWO FREE MEET AND GREET TICKETS IN THE MIDDLE OF A POKER HAND IM PLAYING. i immediately fold and bolt out of the room, skeptical of ehat just occurrd, this cant be real. I call the person who sold me the tix and say "hey u wanna meet the band some dude just gave me free meet and greet tix" she freaks out abd comes down stairs and we go to the line. We meet the band, i have done another meet and greet with them before but this was so surreal, completely unplanned. This had already made my nite epic.
Now, i go back and play poker. I got down 50 before i met the band. I came back and felt the good luck i just stumbled upon
I end up playong well and win back my 50 plus an extra 30. Now im ahead 30 and its time for the show.
One problem at this point, the person buying the other ticket from.me is stuck in traffic. I ask him how far, he says a couple miles. Its 830, the show starts at 9. Now i run 5 miles in 30 mins every morning, but on fridays i run 10 miles. So obviously i was tired and because of how the day went i hadnt ate very well. So i think about it 30 mins till show, 4 miles there and back. I decide to run into the traffic (somewhat cray consideting the eay the lanes r) and give this guy his ticket and collect my money instead of being late and waiting for him for the show. So i do it, i run like hell. For some reason the people in their cars stuck in traffic start cheering me on and honking for me, which made a embarassing situation seem really cool. I run meet thhe guy give his tiket he gives me money and i run back. On the way back the same people notice its me again and are all yelling at me and cheerin me on. It was so surreal. prob sounds lame but i. The moment it felt so awesone.
I arrive at my seat just as the concet starts, excellent just in time! The seats r awesome!!!! Fifteen rows away fron stagr, the whole venue is great. I could have easily gone closer (i was basically rail for encore) but the sound was great where i was and i had the perfect view from where i was. I had a lot of space to myself since the peiple beside me moved foward.
Now, i was exhausted. Remember i ran ten miles this morning and just ran about another four. I decide i need a drink or two. During promises promises i go out for a drink. I read the yelp reviews on the venue and they say it takes an hour for the drinks, i need sone hard liquor now (i dont drink very often). I eye two guys who have four drinks, prob two for their gfs. I say "lemme buy those drinks". They say "no we waited 40 mins and they were 10 each.". So i say" i will give u 15 each" they say okay and give them to me. I end up with two really strong drinks without waiting in line. I spent exactly 30, the same amount i won in poker. How did that work out so well?
As far as venue and setlist, awesome! !!! Three science songs!!! And this week i made an incubus playlist for my 5 mile runes, consisting of 8 songs. They ended playing 5 of those 8 tonight (aclotm, are you in, anna molly ( i know this one is a given), switchblade, and sslw). So i basically gor 5 of the 8 songs i was really feeling this week, it just workd out too well. Switchblade was the highlight of the night for me.
Other things, i met amalogous ( or analogous???). So i recognized one of the guys who was at the guitar clinic. I was there in the background and got to watch the whole thing live. Anyway, he was with her and i was glad i met the two, really nice people.
This whole night was surreal, i cant believe i went from uncertainty from even seeing the show to great tix and meeting the band and being cheered on by a bunch of strangers/ fellow fans as i run franticly. Ive been to about 25+ incubus shows and this one will always stand out to me. Just an epic night[/list]
