No ideas, but I will be in town during the dates you'd previously mentioned! _________________

I submitted the following:
The three guys roll up to a 7-11 separately and don't know each other. They all go to grab an energy drink but there is only one left. They all want it, BADLY. In a moment of pause, they all look each other in the eyes, back and forth, and then they all quickly reach for the drink. One of them manages to grab it and runs out of the store, throwing some money on the counter on his way way out. The other two guys chase him and then the rest of the commercial consists of a chase between these three stunt guys with possession of the drink switching back and forth between the three. During the chase, they're zipping around a city doing cool stunts and whatnot. At the end of the commercial, the drink flies out of one of their hands and into the hands of a really attractive girl. They all stop in front of her, stop fighting, and let her have the drink. She pops the can open, takes a drink, and says, "Mmmm, thanks." The she turns around while the guys stare at her and struts away with the energy drink.
Its more of a commercial idea than a stunt idea but stunts could easily be incorporated. |

If this was an ad for an energy drink, the above suggestion would be fine. Certainly not a novel approach, but hey. We've seen ads like this. Not wanting to shoot it down entirely, just question whether it promotos 7-11 as a brand/chain. Unless it's a 7-11 own brand energy drink (if something like that even exists), then your idea is promoting whatever energy drink and not 7-11. I would adapt said idea, by having someone about to stock fridge with said drink walk in from the back, as they leave the store. In their chase, they pass several stores with deliveries of this product being made, but blindly ignoring it. Eventually, whomever has the drink who blindly/ride ionto a delivery truck, and the others would follow. Delivery guy would shut door behind they would find themselves in a truck full of said drink. Scenes of them wiping off sweat, and cracking open celebratory drink. Closing scenes of 7-11 truck driving off and some naff tagline like: 7-11, we try and keep our stores well stocked. _________________

I just really, really appreciate that Dan actually got on the site and submitted an idea.
This project was a valuable lesson for me about user generated content. The interface of the site was built by our sister agency and it was very off-putting.
Either way. I get to go to LA and film guys doing crazy shit at awesome locations, which is a valuable and awesome experience. Yay, being positive. |

Fuck me for bothering to respond/give input. Good luck anyway, Ned. _________________

No, I definitely appreciate your input, Jackie. Dan already acknowledged that it's a commercial idea, which is not exactly what we were looking for. But given that so few people actually went on the site and did it, I'm very grateful for his participation.
Also, I'm really not supposed to acknowledge commercial/ad ideas for clients that we have so no one in the future is all, YOU STOLE MY IDEA SUING YOUR AGENCY. |
