Nothing will ever top Ocarina of Time, Zelda game or otherwise.

Gamespot rates this game with 7.5

don't care if this game doesn't top Ocarina or a link to the past. Any Zelda game is amazing.

People are way to hung up on Ocarina. I loved that game as a kid and I still do, but you have to admit it didn't age so well. It plays kind of sluggish, is slow and the pacing in the beginning is horrible.

I don't get it, either. I never had a 64, so didn't play Ocarina until I had a gamecube, and I got so bored with it I couldn't even force myself to get past the first dungeon. Windwaker is so much better. It aged well, is a lot of fun, and is paced really well.

Looking forward to Skyward Sword a lot, though.

Majora's Mask, as well, is superior to Ocarina of Time.

Wind Waker was great but i was a little bit dissapointed because it was too easy.

Twilight princess was awesome too but i didn't like the fact that link can turn into a wolf.

Reasons why you disagree? Windwaker still looks great today, unlike Ocarina, which looks incredibly dated, the world was huge with so many places to explore and tons of secrets, the story was lengthy without being tedious, the dungeons were really fun and creative.

Granted, Ocarina bored me too much for me to get very far, so I can't compare it to Windwaker, but it just feels so clunky.

I would still like to finish Twilight Princess before I play Skyward Sword, but it has been good so far.

I don't think Ocarina looks dated at all. Sure, the N64's capabilities are not what the Gamecube's were but I much prefer the graphic style of Ocarina to that of Wind Waker.

Story: There is nothing in the Wind Waker that I really attached to on an emotional level. The feeling was a little too playful for me to really connect with. Not so with Ocarina. The feeling of walking out of the Temple of Time for the first time cannot be matched. Seeing such a contrast between before/after in the tows and landscape is unreal. It just really gave me a sense of doom and "WTF happened?". The Great Deku Tree, Malon singing Epona's song at Lon Lon Ranch, going back to Kokori forest as old Link and seeing everyone as they were 7 years ago.... fuck

The landscape is perfect. Hyrule field, Kakariko Village, Lake Hylia... all of it.

Epona > Boat

Gameplay: Loved the dungeons, even the Water Temple. Jesus, the fucking Water Temple. Racing Dampi in his tomb, Collecting Skulltulas, finding all the masks.

The soundtrack is a monster.

A lot of memories came back while typing that, I think I need to play this again soon.

a lot of reviews says that the game is really good but gamespot is the only one that didn't gave it a good review.

I guess the gamespot reviewer didn't know how to use the controls. He got called out on it, but still refuses to admit he was playing the game wrong, which led to the lower score.

Haven't played much yet, but so far I'm not seeing those 'radical changes' to the overworld and dungeon design they were talking about. But overall I'm enjoying it quite a bit. Controls aren't perfect though, sometimes it does feel like 1:1 movement, but it doesn't always do what I want so I found myself recalibrating a few times. Nothing major though.

i finally get it and it's awesome.

the only bad thing is that the graphics looks like if its a N64 game.

Agreed on all points. Ocarina was so much darker than the more recent ones and the music and art direction carried the theme flawlessly. Nostalgia does color everything, but the game is still so much more consistently executed than the others.
