But i do find it very strange that with all the money he gets from incubus that he'd do that... Threatening to kill sb is just too much. But anyway, Gavin has shown himself as bit mentally unballanced.

I doubt Mike or the band will ever come close to thinking about making response to that video. Eventually this whole Gavin thing will die out in time.

I honestly even think Gavin's enjoying the press he's been getting for this fiasco. Last thing I want to do if I was a band member is to add more fuel to the fire.

What should have been a private matter between Gavin Koppel and Chris Kilmore has now become a public matter. Sign of the times I guess. As most of you will understand, the band guys are not at liberty to comment about the legal proceedings going on between Gavin Koppel and Chris Kilmore.

With regard to Gavin's recent video posting, I can’t help but think that all of the energy that Gavin has spent over the last 12 years posting bullshit on bulletin boards, filing frivolous lawsuits, squealing tires in front of peoples houses, and threatening people would be better spent working on new music and projects. I know that he has the talent to do that. I know that the income he receives from his work in Incubus could fund those projects and add, rather than detract, from his own musical legacy.

In addition, I was not aware of his work with youth groups. The world needs more of that. I commend him for his work with young people but wonder how he’d explain his actions to those very same young kids. Would he preach “get even” or “get over it”?

Rather than debate (again) the points in Gavin's recent video posting, I'll just say that those issues have been discussed ad nauseum and litigated previously and in each case Incubus has been found to have acted with good faith in their business dealings with Mr Koppel.

For the record, Gavin Koppel and I have always gotten along fine. Despite his reports to the contrary when he calls I always call back. While I don’t often agree with his view of things I have treated him with the respect he deserves as a former band member. Gavin himself has told me that he thinks I’m ok.

The SCIENCE Gold disc he proudly displayed in his recent video post was given to him, by me, in recognition of his contributions on the album. At the time it was the only SCIENCE Gold disc in existence. It took SCIENCE so long to go Gold (long after Gavin had left) that Sony did not even remember to take care of the rest of the guys until I mentioned that I had to buy the band their own gold discs. In addition, contrary to what you might think (given all the commotion he has stirred up over the years) Gavin has talked with Mike as well on a couple of occasions since he left the band and its been respectful and cordial. I think if Gavin is being honest he would agree.

Thats's what so troubling for me. For thousands of Incubus fans, SCIENCE represents Incubus’ best work. For that Gavin should be proud. He says that he’s not bitter but his recent video seems to suggest otherwise. The fact that he would indulge the notion of killing someone in any context, even as a joke, is very troubling to me and lots of other people, including some of Gavin’s own friends apparently.

Bottom line is that Gavin needs to take his own advice and get a life. His actions over the last 12 years including this most recent confrontation are shitting on all the great work he did on the SCIENCE album and putting himself at risk with law enforcement authorities and painting a troubling picture for his friends and family. I can only hope that one day Gavin will recognize this and move on with his own life.

In the meantime, I’d like to thank all of the band’s fans for their continuing support and look forward to having something more productive and fun to talk about soon. The guys are working on new music and look forward to seeing you in the near future.

He's just a walking contradction, since he describes himself as 'original incubus dj' wich doesn't seem to me the kind of description somone would give themselves if they had gotten over it.

I don't fear just for Incubus members and crew's life. I fear for his life.

And Steve said one thing that I couldn't say better: He could use the payment of the royalities and invest on his career. Or continues with his work with younger minds. Both of them would be better choices than haress people for something that happened 12 years ago.
