It's usually that or backups that slow it down.
Shared hosting would probably be fine for the board - it's not really that resource intensive, except needing somewhat speedy SQL access.
We could try it out on mine, although this would have to go down for a bit while I uploaded the DB. I can lay the groundwork for it; I've got plenty of bandwidth.

Our server was down for several hours today. We had what is called "zombie processes" going around and around causing the server to overload. Anyway, I am in the process of getting a brand new FASTER server.
I'll add info. here because the board will be down for a day or so. Probably next weekend. We need to do backups first which take a day or more. Then we can "migrate" to the new server.
