I really hope I did this correctly, btw. I found simliar topics, but none quite the same.
My dilemma is, I already spent $200 for the Incubus show in D.C and now I want to bid on a VIP package. Naturally, I'd want to hold onto my tickets in case I didn't win a package, but how would I get rid of them if i DID? I don't live in D.C, I'm going there because it's the closest show to me. Do you think I'd have any luck trying to sell them before the concert? How would you handle it?
thanks |

Ebay... then FedEx them to the winning bidder.
Or Craigs List... make sure they know you can only mail them and can't meet in person. http://www.craigslist.com
Or you can definitely sell them AT the show. If you're a kind soul and just want to find a really huge incubus fan... you'd make their day by selling them the day of the show at face-value. This is probably what I'd do. _________________

| yeah, i would DEFINITELY want a hardcore incubus fan to have them. I guess I could bring the sheet to prove what I paid for them. I'm kinda worried that someone wouldn't believe they were legit even with the paper, though... |

i'm sure there will be people willing to pay more than 200 for the tix so the paper should be plenty of proof...
if you even need it. _________________ I'm a fan of, yours and, I need a good mistake... |

I am currently bidding on VIP for Chicago but have 2 print-out (TicketFast) tickets for this show already. It seemed like a good idea at the time....now not so cool. But anyway, can I get rid of the print-out tickets in this form if I win the VIP? They have my name on them....I don't see why it would make a difference though. I just have never used the TicketFast and am not completely trusting this method. Anyone else ever use TicketFast? |

yeah i use ticket fast for all concerts that are out of my town when i cant get to the venue the day the tickets go on sale or if there is a pre sale... it works the same as a stub ticket as long you have a pretty good printer so that the barcode is easy to scan, or else there will be trouble i speak from experience...
i'm in the same situation as you i bought tix through the pre-sale when i only seen a few cities listed for V.I.P. and wanted to make sure i had tickets no matter what, now i'm bidding on orlando V.I.P. and its looking good, at least i can sell mine to my brother so i dont have to worry bout people trippin on the fact that the tix are ticketfast because those things can be printed over and over but only used once so someone could acutally make a few copies sell them all and screw whoever dosent get in first. so be careful buying ticketfast tickets from scalpers... _________________ I'm a fan of, yours and, I need a good mistake... |

^^Thanks for being so helpful ELEMENT81.
If I get VIP, someone on the board may want my tix. I can either hook up with them at the venue or unload them to another die-hard fan if that doesn't work. Do they check your ID and see if it matches your TicketFast ticket though? I think that would be kinda silly since in certain situations people legitimately buy tix for others to use.
So, sounds like TicketFast is A-OK...My printer is fine and I have an "extra" set printed out just in case the first ones don't work. But, I used a brand new Dell printer, and the bar code looks clean. Wow -- did you not get into a concert b/c the printer screwed up? That would be devastating!
I'd even eat the $100 if it meant I got cheaper VIPs! But, hoping I don't have to do that.... I would never screw over a fellow Incubus fan with duplicate sets/sales of my tix. That would be bad karma for sure! |

not a problem glad to help jholly...
just to let you know i got in with the fucked up ticket its just they had a manager/retard sign the tickets at the gate and entered the barcode manually, took a min. but still got front row after the first song...
(let me take this chance to say i'm am really sorry to the 7 teeny boppers i heaved over the rail that night to get front row) sorry but you didn't know the words to circles.... had to go _________________ I'm a fan of, yours and, I need a good mistake... |

ELEMENT81 -- it was nice to hear that you did actually get in and still got front row.
Although, the front row can be distracting at times since you typically spend a lot of time defending yourself from physical damage....I am too old to go to work with a black eye!
So, it sounds like TicketFast is an A-OK way to get tickets. Hopefully, though I will be able to get rid of these -- VIP bidding ends tomorrow and there is a lot of competition for these in Chicago. We'll see...
Anyway, thanks again for your help. |

i hate that barcode crap. it took me 2 hours to get into U2. my barcode didn't scan on my ticket & i had to line up twice at the ticket box (with loads of other people). funny the "ticketek members club" line was empty, but wouldn't allow for any ordinary folk to line up there to ease the line stress.
in America, if you order tickets via online... do you not get a carboard "proper" ticket, but rather a page print out? damn. we get the real thing here. i use online ticket purchasing all the time. |

| In America we also can get the old fashioned "cardboard" type. There were 2 options at the checkout -- one for Tickets Now! or the other for tickets by mail. I panicked and chose Tickets Now! instead b/c I wanted them in my hands that moment. Plus, it sounded cool at the time. They are supposed to work just like the regular types, with a bar code scan. |
